A fragment of a post Medieval coarse redware vessel, possibly from a large jug and almost certainly locally made. The fragment consists of part of a handle of 20.7mm width projecting from a portion of the rim. The fabric is oxidised and red coloured throughout, with frequent large flint and iron oxide inclusions (up to 2mm) and traces of a patchy reddish brown and greenish coloured copper or manganese-rich glaze. The original diameter of the rim may have been around 20cm. Circa 16th-18th century.
