An incomplete late Iron Age or early Roman cast copper alloy brooch of rosette form, dating to c.AD 20 - 60. The brooch consists of the wings, the integral bow and part of the plate, part of the spring and pin are missing. The wings are undecorated and enclosed at each end, they are open on the underside and retain four coils the spring. The bow projects from the wings, it is strongly arched and has a plano-convex profile where it meets the circular plate. The circular plate is incomplete but decorated with six concentric evenly spaced raised bands. Below is the rectangular lower bow with is decorated with two central raised vertical lines. The rear of the brooch is convex and retains a sub-rectangular catchplate on the lower bow.
