A complete milled silver 50 cent coin of Albert I King of Belgium (1909-1934) dated to 1911, which has been modified for use as a brooch. Obverse description: Profile bust facing left surrounded with the legend in Dutch. Designers name below bust. Obverse inscription: ·ALBERT·KONING· ·DER·BELGEN· (King of the Belgians). G.DEVREESE (Godefroid Devreese engraver). Reverse descroption: The face value and date are surrounded with an olive branch and oak branch and the motto in Dutch. Reverse inscription: 50 CENTn 1911. ·EENDRACHT·MAAKT·MACHT· (unity makes strength). The reverse has the attachment for the (missing) pin and the obverse has the soldered remains of the catch plate.
