A complete post Medieval copper alloy uniface coin weight for an Angel, dating to 15th - 16th century.  One side of the weight depicts St Michael with a halo over his head, with one leg straight and the other bent, spearing a dragon. The reverse side is undecorated.

The weight is 15.5mm in diameter, 3.2mm in thickness and weighs 4.2g (= 64 grains).

Similar coin weights can be found in Withers & Withers 2011, page 26. Withers & Withers state that the depiction of the angel with the right leg bend and left leg straight indicate these were not produced before 1493. (ibid). See also IOW-019E73, WREX-AF87E4, CORN-22F1E5.
