A complete, Post-Medieval, probably 1697, milled or minted William III (1694-1702)  silver alloy sixpence. Obverse: Laureate and draped bust right, first bust with hair turned outwards above and below the crown of the head. Inscription: GVLIELMVS.III.DEI.GRA. Reverse: Crowned cruciform shields with later harp and small crown. Inscription: MAG BR.(FR)A ET.HIB.REX. Mint name: London. Die axis: 6 o'clock. Fine condition or worn obverse and very worn in places on reverse, reasonably good silver colour but some light grey tarnish and a number of scratches especially four or five across the bust probably caused by agricultural machinery. This is likely to date to 1697 or possibly 1699. Ref. Coins of England and the UK, Spink 2017, page 298 No. 3531. The coin is 20.90mm long, 20.53mm wide, 1.03mm thick, diameter 20.90mm and weighs 2.8g.
