Complete flat-butted flint cordate handaxe of Lower Palaeolithic date (500000 BC – 40000 BC). Length 111mm, width 93mm and 55mm thick. Weight 488g.

Bi-facially worked and symmetrical in plan, the implement has been produced on a large flake. The flake has a large striking platform and an indistinct bulb of percussion. The removals cover the whole of the dorsal surface and most of the ventral surface. Orange coloured overall.
