An incomplete Post-Medieval silver hammered three farthings coin of Queen Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603), of the Second Issue (AD 1561-1582) with possible Cross Crosslet mint mark dating to AD 1560-1561. Minted in London. The coin has been clipped and parts of the inscriptions on the obverse and reverse faces are missing. See North, II, 1991, p. 135, no. 2002. 

Obverse: Crowned bust of queen facing left. 

Obverse inscription: [E. D. G. ROSA.] SINE . SPINA.

Reverse: Squared shield bearing royal coat of arms quartered by a long cross fourchee. 

Reverse inscription: (Cross Crosslett) CIVI / [TAS ...] / DON.

The coin measures 13.78mm in diameter, 0.62mm in thickness, and weighs 0.46g.
