This year marks 15 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme as a national scheme. Throughout the year we’ll be celebrating finds from each county – a find a day for the whole year! Here are the finds we’ve chosen from Rutland:

Early Medieval pendant (LEIC-47932A): a gold filigree disc pendant.
Medieval harness pendant (NARC-0766E9): a copper alloy pendant of a knight on horseback or a centaur.
Medieval laver mount (LEIC-B96215): a copper alloy mount in the shape of a woman’s head from a medieval laver (hand-washing basin)
Neolithic arrowhead (LEIC-B31DBC): a flint leaf-shaped arowhead.
Medieval coin (LEIC-FAF0D4): a silver groat of Richard III, minted 1483-5.
Early Medieval mount (LEIC-4199B9): a copper alloy mount with Salin Style I zoomorphic deocoration.
Post-medieval musket balls (PUBLIC-F14330): a group of lead alloy musket balls, probably from the English Civil War.
