PAS 15 – Finds from Oxfordshire

This year marks 15 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme as a national scheme. Throughout the year we’ll be celebrating finds from each county – a find a day for the whole year! Here are the finds we’ve chosen from Oxfordshire:

Early Medieval brooch (SUR-8F3008) – a copper alloy circular brooch with traces of enamel remaining.

Roman miniature axe (BH-6D6F73) – a copper alloy votive axe.

Post-medieval spectacles (BERK-7F0834) – a pair of 17th century folding spectacles with carry case.

Early Medieval work box (OXON-1A54A6) – a copper alloy work box with incised decoration.

Bronze Age axehead (BERK-79C218) – a copper alloy socketed axehead of Ulleskelf type.

Post-medieval dagger pommel (BERK-FDF727) – a copper alloy dagger pommel from Tudor period.

Bronze Age razor (SUR-D8D06E) – a copper alloy razor blade.
