PAS 15 – Finds from Norfolk

This year marks 15 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme as a national scheme. Throughout the year we’ll be celebrating finds from each county – a find a day for the whole year! Here are the finds we’ve chosen from Norfolk:

Medieval penny (NMS-FFDE29): a silver penny of William I, moneyer Thurgrim of Norwich.

Medieval pilgrim badge (NMS-3D99F3): a pilgrim badge depicting St. Nicholas clothed as a Bishop.

Medieval aquamanile (NMS-1D9D54): a pottery aquamanile in the shape of a dog’s head.

Roman plate brooch (NMS-13F7BA): a copper alloy enamelled plate brooch in the shape of a fish.

Post-medieval nutcracker (NMS-004813): a copper alloy nutcracker shaped like a cooking pot.

Medieval buckle plate (NMS-B1DD90): a enamelled copper alloy buckle plate from Limoges.

Post-medieval cloth seal (NMS-96EAD2): a two-part lead cloth seal of the Norwich Weavers’ Company.
