PAS 15 – Finds from Lincolnshire

This year marks 15 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme as a national scheme. Throughout the year we’ll be celebrating finds from each county – a find a day for the whole year! Here are the finds we’ve chosen from the county of Lincolnshire:

Bronze Age ‘moustache’ (NARC-925E14): a copper alloy object of unknown function.

Post-medieval badge (NLM-D699F4): a pressed copper alloy badge depicting a lion.

Iron Age strap fitting (YORYM-9E312A): a copper alloy and enamel strap fitting of late Iron Age to early Roman date.

Medieval stirrup strap mount (LIN-439095): a copper alloy stirrup strap mount depicting a lion.

Roman seal box (LIN-E12F25): a copper alloy and enamel seal box, complete and unopened.

Neolithic arrowhead (NLM-4F235A): a leaf arrowhead made of flint dating to 4000-3500BC.

Early Medieval brooch (LIN-79D38D): a copper alloy Great Square Headed brooch.
