PAS 15: Finds from Hertfordshire

This year marks 15 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme as a national scheme. Throughout the year we’ll be celebrating finds from each county – a find a day for the whole year! Here are the finds we’ve chosen from Hertfordshire:

Post-medieval winder (PUBLIC-85533D): a copper alloy winding key for an 18th century pocket-watch.

Early Medieval strap end (BH-826023): a copper alloy strap end in the Trewhiddle style.

Roman brooch (BH-97F4D9): a Roman copper alloy brooch with enamel inlay.

Medieval strap fitting (BH-627766): a copper alloy swivel strap fitting.

Roman figurine (BH-ED9F44): a copper alloy figurine of Minerva-Fortuna.

Roman finger ring (BUC-98E045): a silver Roman finger ring inscribed with a palm leaf.

Post-medieval vessel (ESS-60836C): a 16th/17th century Bartmann or Bellarmine vessel.
