PAS 15 – Finds from Gloucestershire

This year marks 15 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme as a national scheme. Throughout the year we’ll be celebrating finds from each county – a find a day for the whole year! Here are the finds we’ve chosen from Gloucestershire:

Post-medieval cloth seal (GLO-BE1C08): a lead cloth seal with shield of St. George and ‘GLOSTERS’ inscription.

Post-medieval sword belt hanger (WAW-D59E36): a copper alloy belt hook with foliage decoration.

Roman brooch (LANCUM-A46319): an early Hod Hill copper alloy brooch.

Roman finger ring (GLO-30DC46): a silver Roman ring stamped with a human head and shoulders facing right.

Medieval book clasp (GLO-5B1D88): a copper alloy decorated book clasp.

Dice of unknown date (GLO-668EA1): a lead dice with non-standard layout.

Medieval pilgrim badge (GLO-756B25): a lead pilgrim badge depicting St. Rocco (or Roche).
