Phil joined the scheme as one of the FLOs for Suffolk in October 2020, having previously completed a Headley Trust Internship in Norfolk and been a Finds Liaison Assistant in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Phil holds a PhD in Archaeology awarded by the University of Leicester. Prior to this, he worked as a professional field archaeologist in the UK. He has excavated in the North-west, the midlands, East Anglia and the South-west England as well as in Portugal.

His main area of interest is the Roman period and prehistory.
