Finds Recording Officer (FLO) Suffolk

This job is no longer available, it expired on the Friday 19th June 2020

Salary: £ £25,295

We are looking for a Finds Recording Officer to be a part of the small friendly Suffolk Finds Recording Team, part of the national Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS).

You will be responsible for:

  • recording archaeological objects of all periods found by members of the public onto the national PAS database
  • fostering links with metal detector users – this will include evening work
  • engaging in outreach projects with the public.

We will provide on the job training, enabling you to become an expert in archaeological metal small finds and Suffolk’s archaeology.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport / use the team van or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.

For an informal discussion only, please contact Faye Minter on (01284) 741228.
