Finds Liaison Assistant

The Finds Liaison Assistant will work with the Portable Antiquities Scheme in Kent. The post holder will be responsible to the Finds Liaison Officer (FLO) within the Heritage Conservation Team at KCC. They will work closely with the Finds Liaison Officer for the benefit of the historic environment and to further the aims of the Portable Antiquities Scheme within Kent.

The post requires a part time person, two days a week (14.8 hours), on a flexitime basis until the 31st March 2016. They will assist the Finds Liaison Officer in the identification and recording of finds made by members of the public throughout Kent. The main duties of the post holder will be the identification and recording of finds (which are likely to include pottery and flint as well as metal artefacts) on to the Portable Antiquities Scheme database.

With a degree in archaeology or a related subject, you will ideally have experience of handling and working with archaeological finds. Experience of working with computer databases is desirable. Good communication and organisational skills are essential as is a methodical approach to your work.
