The Hackney Hoard
The 80 coins are all gold 20-dollar pieces of the United States, issued between 1854 and 1913. The coins are thus all the same denomination, introduced in this form in 1850, and were struck to the same standard, 90% gold, used from 1837 until the end of US gold coinage in 1933. The catalogue shows that the coins gradually increase in number across the decades from 1870 to 1909 (13 coins from 1870-9; 14 from 1880-89; 18 from 1890-99; and 25 from 1900-9). Over a quarter of the total were issued in the last 6 six years represented. Together these factors suggest that …

Two Medieval pottery body sherds with bungholes from two large Surrey Whiteware cisterns, possibly Kingston Ware (14th – 15th century). Both the sherds have a white fabric and include the circular bunghole with decorative rim. The rim is decorated with thumb impressions creating a frilled appearance.
Bungholes like this are often found near the base of large cisterns which were used to store fluids. Roy Stephenson notes this is likely to be domestic waste as opposed to firing waste.

A Post Medieval pottery base sherd from a Chinese porcelain Famille Vert bowl (mid-18th century). There is hand-painted decoration on both the upper and lower surfaces of the base. On the upper surface there is a central orange flower, or fruit within a blue border containing more of the flowers/fruits and possibly the roots from a tree or plant that continues beyond the border. At the base of the plant are green pods. On the lower surface of the base there is a central blue flower within a blue border of two concentric circles.

A late Medieval stone carved anthropomorphic statue (14th – 15th century). The figure has been carved three-dimensionally and it is heavily worn with the head missing. The remaining visible detail shows the figure (probably a monk) to be draped holding a staff and possibly an exaggerated rosary.
John Clark suggests this figure is from one of the City of London churches and was either disposed during iconoclasm (probably the Reformation) or the Great Fire.
