However, as this jetton is unusual, a more general date range of 1350-1450 is suggested here until further research confirms this association. The obverse bears a heater-shield of Burgundy-modern and Burgundy-ancient (the bands in the top right quarter being incorrectly aligned) and has the legend 'AVE MARIA [GRA]CIA [M A]'. The reverse bears a triple-stranded straight cross fleuretty within a tressure of four arches. Within the inner angles are the letters 'A/M/A/M', within each of the four external angles is an annulet flanked by two pellets.
