{"vacs":[{"id":"58","title":"IFA Workplace Bursary Assistant Training and Publications Officer","regionID":"40","specification":"<p>Applications are invited for a 12 month HLF funded, IFA Work Place Learning Bursary with the Nautical Archaeology Society at its office in Portsmouth. <\/p>\r\n<p>Salary: &pound;14,270 plus 6% pension <br \/>\r\nDuration: The post is offered as a 12 month full time position <br \/>\r\nStart Date: August \/ September 2007 <\/p>\r\n<p>This is an opportunity to gain meaningful maritime archaeology training and practical skills including desk based research, underwater and inter-tidal fieldwork, post fieldwork analysis, interpretation, report and article writing, as well as in teaching and publishing.&nbsp; The placement is designed around the National Occupational Standards in Archaeological Practice, providing the candidate with the opportunity to use the experience gained in this placement towards a vocational Qualification in Archaeological Practice. <\/p>\r\n<p>The NAS welcomes applications from candidates with archaeological training to degree level (or equivalent experience), with a strong interest in pursuing a career in nautical archaeology or a related area. Candidates should have good IT skills and some <br \/>\r\narchaeological fieldwork experience. The placement will involve working as a diver underwater and the candidate must have the physical ability and fitness to cope with the demands of working underwater and must be able to pass the HSE medical for divers. The candidate should have a minimum diving qualification at CMAS 3* equivalent. <\/p>\r\n<p>The post will be based at the NAS offices, Portsmouth, England, but will involve some travel around the UK and some periods of staying away to undertake related project work. <\/p>\r\n<p>The closing date for applications is 27th July 2007.
