Applications are invited for an HLF-funded IFA Workplace Learning Bursary with the University of Winchester . The Faculty of Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturing Placement in Archaeology with effect from 4 th September 2006 . The post is for a fixed term until the end of July 2007. The successful candidate will join an established and research-active team of tutors, to teach practical modules, e.g. surveying, post-excavation, artefact studies and excavation, and current professional practice in cultural resource management. They will also contribute to the planning and execution of fieldwork projects. The post does not require period specialisation, but the candidate will be expected to fit in with the British and European focus of the department's teaching. The placement holder will be expected to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education course and therefore they will not be required to undertake significant administration or the teaching load of a full-time lecturer.

Applicants should possess a good honours degree in archaeology or a closely related discipline and have significant experience in cultural resource management and archaeological fieldwork.
