An incomplete, cast, Post Medieval dress hook dating from AD 1500-1600, the tag and the hook are missing. The remains of the dress fastener are now limited to the subcircular body and three short worn stubs where the body would have originally joined a trapezoidal tag loop and hook. The upper surface of the body is convex and has a cast moulded petalled double rose.  The reverse of the body is flat and plain. An incomplete cast copper alloy, dress fastener dating to the early Post-Medieval Period c. 1500 - 1600 AD.  The object is composed of an incomplete rectangular attachment hook at the top of a flat broadly oval plate. The hook is made of a rectangular tab which would have bent forwards over 180 degrees but has been truncated by a transverse break and possibly unbent due to its wavery form in profile. A cast copper alloy decorative pendant element, probably from a post medieval earring. The pendant is broadly ovate and openwork, comprised of four tapering petals with scalloped edges which form the sides of the object, with a pellet at the base and a small conical collar with a rounded suspension loop at the top. One of these petals is bent open. Traces of gilding remain.

An incomplete post medieval copper alloy composite dress hook of Read's (2008) Class D, specifically Type 6. All that remains is the trefoil base plate, which has an engrailed edge and three holes through which the separately made attachment loop and a separate central decorative element were secured. There are solder scars on the plate from three domed hemispherical bosses and the sharp hook, mounted on the front of the plate.
