A silver Iron Age unit of the Iceni, Early Face/Horse series Bury type A, c.50-15 BC. The coin is dished and slightly oval in shape, missing a small area of the flan due to old breaks. It belongs to Talbot's die group 2, probably with obverse die E or F and reverse die 3 (Talbot, 2006: pp. 218-219). As Hobbs no. 3524-3527, VA 80-1.

A complete struck Iron Age stater, dating circa 50-30BC. Both sides of the coin are tarnished and the obverse is worn. Metal content is uncertain, but probably silver. Icenian stater, Early Uninscribed J, 'Norfolk Wolf' type. A stater with a similar reverse is recorded in Hobbs:1996, plate 12, no 276, showing a wolf facing left with a crescent and pellets above. The obverse is too worn to discern. Dimensions: Diameter is 17.42mm. Thickness is 2.45mm. The coin weighs 4.2g.
