An incomplete silvered copper alloy probable toilet implement of unknown dating, probably Roman to Post Medieval dating (43 AD - 1700 AD). The find consists of a strip of rectangular sectioned copper alloy, with a S-twisted mid section, a semi circular scoop at one end and the other incomplete. Traces of silvering are present on the surface. One side of the toilet article has been decorated with a series of parallel lines engraved on it. An incomplete and misshapen Roman or Medieval cast copper-alloy toilet implement (43-1400 AD). The implement has been made from a strip of rectangular sectioned copper-alloy. It is flat on one side and longitudinally ribbed on the other side and has a twisted shaft of thirteen turns. At one end there is an incomplete spatula and the other end has an incomplete scoop. A bent Roman copper-alloy probable toilet implement broken into two unequal pieces. The larger piece consists of a twisted wire handle, broken at one end just before a terminal, with part of an oval terminal at the other. This broken scoop or bowl is shallowly concave (W.: 10.15mm); the break is ragged. The handle has been bent through ninety degrees at both ends; the ends have also been bent upwards and downwards. A complete toilet/cosmetic article of probable Roman date (AD 43 – AD 410). Length: 101.2mm; width: 8.6mm and 3.1mm thick. Weight: 5.29g. This implement has a square section stem that has 11-12 even twists through its length. One end is flattened and spayed with a straight terminal end which is angled at about 30° to the plane of the splayed part.
