An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman bow and fantail brooch, date ing from about AD 75 - 175. A copper alloy heraldic badge. It is quatrefoil in shape, with points between the leaves. A solid plain band is around the outside of this. Inside is a device of initials surmounted by a crown with fleur-de-lys central ornament and two half fleur-de-lys as the outside ornaments. A probable cap badge, of copper alloy, It is circular, with a heavy fixing hook on the rear of the plate. The design is of three flowers equally spaced around the badge. The flowers are indented, consisting of six circular petals and a ring of many stamens, with a clear centre. The field of the badge appears to have blue enamel and the stamens are enamelled with red.
