A corroded and incomplete cast copper alloy medieval enamelled heraldic stud or mount, probably from horse harness. The plate displays arms quarterly, with a cross fleury on a red enamel (gules) field in two quarters and an illegible device on a blue enamel field (azure) in the other two. No traces of gilding or tinning are evident so the colour of the metals in the blazon are unclear. All of the margins of the plate have suffered considerable loss and the original shape is unclear. The reverse is undecorated and has a single shank around 10mm in length.
