Roman copper alloy brooch that is a hybrid between a Polden Hill and a Wirral style. The pin mounting is in the polden Hill style, consisting of rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the pin axis bar which is now missing. The bow of the brooch is in the Wirral style and consists of a double rectangular cell covering the top quarter, which contains traces of a red or orange enamel. Two angled low protrusions flank the apex of the bow and a shallow double grove running down the centre of the lower half completes the decoration. Date 75-175AD

Copper alloy brooch. Cast umbonate plate brooch, as kindly identified by the finder who cites SWYOR-530E36 as a parallel; Mackreth type British Plate 7.a. Fragment of late Iron Age copper-alloy D-shaped terret, now very corroded but perhaps originally enamelled. It has a sub-circular or slightly oval upright collar terminal 13.7mm wide, 12.1mm tall and 4.8mm thick. From one side of this projects a triangular-section upper ring, with a flat inner and an angled outer. On the other side of the collar, at its base, is a stub of the attachment bar which shows that this was rectangular-section, 6.5 x 3.4mm, and set vertically. An incomplete copper-alloy enamelled buckle plate of 12th or 13th century date. The plate is a Limoges product made from copper-alloy of which only a tiny stub survives. An incomplete worn enamelled copper-alloy flat disc brooch dating to 80-250AD. A small disc, with the (now missing) pin mounted between two worn lugs. On the centre of the disc is a centrla reserved spot surrounded by a concave sided hexagon on whose cusps are small circles, and in the recesses are remains of blue enamel. A corroded and incomplete cast copper alloy medieval enamelled heraldic stud or mount, probably from horse harness. The plate displays arms quarterly, with a cross fleury on a red enamel (gules) field in two quarters and an illegible device on a blue enamel field (azure) in the other two. No traces of gilding or tinning are evident so the colour of the metals in the blazon are unclear. All of the margins of the plate have suffered considerable loss and the original shape is unclear. The reverse is undecorated and has a single shank around 10mm in length.

An incomplete copper-alloy finger ring of Roman date, c.AD 50-300. Guiraud's Type 1b (Henig Type 1). The bezel is round with a sub-rectangular section with a recessed circular cell to the upper surface. The cell holds five circles of blue enamel in a cross formation. One of the circles is largely lost. The remains of an integral hoop extend downward at almost 90 degrees to either end of the reverse of the bezel.
