A gold and enamel posy ring dating from about AD 1670 - 1730. The ring has a hoop of D shaped cross-section and is slightly distorted. The inside is inscribed "I am thy lott refuse me not" in italic script with a long S. There is no maker's mark. The external face is decorated with a motif in relief that repeats three times; a U shaped symbol from which springs a pair of leaves, with another pair of leaves above, a heart shaped flower above them, and the pistle and stamen above the cup like petals. An incomplete cast copper-alloy cup-headed stud inlaid with green enamel. Sally Worrell has comented that such studs are late Iron Age or Early Roman, usually with either a blue or red enamel (see FAKL-FCD5C7). This example has a green enamel with no traces of blue or red. The head is cup-shaped and is roughly circular in plan. The diameter of the head is 14.44mm and the cup has a thickness of 5.57mm. A cast copper-alloy linch pin terminal of late Iron Age-Roman date, c. 100 BC-AD 200. Only the terminal of the lynch pin survives, as a copper-alloy socket that fit over the end of the iron pin. In profile, the body of the terminal is triangular, though it is hollow and circular in section, with a break at one end, and a thick oval base at the other, this latter with a rectangular hole near one edge. The body of the terminal is decorated with circumscribed circles the retain an orange-yellow enamel in the central cell.
