A complete medieval copper alloy pendant, probably horse harness, dating to c AD 1200 - 1400. Ward-Perkins Type 1. It is shield shaped with a loop on a short stalk, at ninety degrees to the face of the shield. It is probably pseudo-heraldic (decorative) but has lightly moulded into its face a quite complex motif. A chevron lies across the centre with three indistinct devices within it, perhaps florals or quatrefoils. An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle frame dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1400. In form it broadly corresponds to Meols type 10, with knopped outer edges to the recessed outer frame (decorated with a tightly packed series of transverse grooves), an offset strap bar and overall oval form. A copper alloy jug, with one handle. One of three containers for the Dorchester hoard found in 1936 (IARCH-5E5FEF). It was recorded as having a height of 1 foot 3/4 inches and a diameter at the top of 4 3/4 in. and at the base 4 in. Its maximum diameter was 7 inches. The handle was decorated with a vine branch and attached to the rim by two duck's beaks and to the body by a Silenus mask. Elements of the decoration were picked out in silver inlay. A cast copper alloy stirrup strap mount dating. The mount can be categorised as Williams' Class A, Type 16. It is rectangular in shape with a narrow right-angled flange at the base (mainly missing on this example) and a rounded pierced lug at the apex.The apex extension has downward curving projections at either side.The two rivet holes at the base and the hole through the apex are all filled with iron corrosion product. An incomplete small zoomorphic strap-end made from copper alloy with silver inlay. It has a short split attachment end, missing the front part; the back part is thin and has the remnants of two circular attachment holes, one at each corner. Copper alloy post- medieval knife end-cap with traces of the tang of an iron blade. The object is a slightly irregular oval shape and is open at the base to allow the attachment of the tang of an iron blade, the stub of which remains. It is closed at the top. Both faces are decorated with the date 1526 recessed with white inlay. Above and below the date on both sides is a transverse linear groove.
