An incomplete silver penny struck for Alexander III of Scotland in the period 1280-6. The obverse has a crowned head left with sceptre before the face and a legend which reads 'ALEXA[ ]ERDEIGRA' It has barred As and straight-sided letters. The reverse is a Long Cross with mullets in each quarter. There are 26 points between the mullets. The legend reads 'REX/SCO/T[ ]/VM+'. It is north 5054. A fragment is missing and there is also a break. It is 18.01mm in diameter, 0.62mm in thickness and weighs 0.94g.

A silver voided long-cross cut halfpenny struck of Alexander III of Scotland struck in the period 1250-1280. The coin is a cut half and has been bent back upon itself, obscuring most of the obverse. The form of the bust is uncertain but the lettering '[ ]ND[ ]' is visible. The reverse is a voided Long Cross with six-pointed stars in each quarter. It reads '[ ] ER [ ]D [ ]' which makes it likely to originate in the mint of Aberdeen. The size is difficult to measure, given its folded form, but it is 13.24mm in length, 11.04mm in width, 2.96mm in height (including the bent section), 0.68…
