A complete but broken post-medieval silver groat of Mary I (1553-1554), North 1960, minted at the Tower of London, 1553-1554. The coin is very worn and slightly bent. It has broken into two fragments, which can be connected. The coin shows evidence of clipping.

A silver hammered coin (Groat) of Mary I (Solo reign 1553-4). The coin is in fair condition with the bust of the queen completely worn, yet the lettering still visible. The initial mark of this coin is a pomegranate, (1553-4 tower mint).
The reverse has "ITAS (pomegranate) TEMPORIS FILIA" is still readable across the perimeter with the outline of the shield of Mary I visible.
The obverse has no recognisable imagery left as the bust of Mary I has been completley worn. "MARIA·(pomegranate)·D·G·ANG·FRA [...]" is visible.
