A worn and incomplete late medieval penny, probably of Edward IV (first reign) and light coinage of 1461-1470. The bust has a trefoil of pellets on the left and a letter B or R on the right of the neck.Probably mint of Durham, local dies or mule and circa 1465-1466. Cf. Allen (2003) Plate 7, numbers 170/171.

An incomplete, silver Irish Medieval penny from the reign of Edward IV (AD 1461-1483). Possibly 'Heavy Cross and Pellets' coinage (c. AD 1465). Possibly Drogheda mint. There are segments that have been clipped around the edge, including from 12 o'clock to 1 o'clock and from 2 o'clock to 4 o'clock.
Obverse description: Crowned bust facing forwards.
Obverse inscription: [EDWA]RD [DI] [GR] [DNS] [HYBE].
Reverse description: Long cross pattee with three pellets in each angle, a rose at the centre.
