A clipped and incomplete silver penny of Edward IV (AD 1461-1483). Episcopal issue minted at York under Archbishop George Neville dating to AD 1465-72. As North (1991:88) Nos: 1594, 1595 or 1599. Just over one third of the outer edge of the flan is missing.
Obverse: [...] crowned bust facing forwards G to left of bust, key to right.
Reverse: [...] Long cross with three pellets in each corner, voided quatrefoil in the centre.

Measurements: 17.96mm in diameter (central punch hole 10.21mm in diameter) 0.62mm thick and 0.47g in weight.

A medieval silver groat of Edward IV (first reign; 1461-70), Light Coinage (1464/5-70), mint: London, initial mark: crown (obv), sun (rev), North 1571. Ref: North 1991: 87.
The flan is irregular in shape and possibly clipped.
The obverse features the front facing bust of Edward IV, with a quatrefoil each side of the neck. A Crown mint mark is just visible at 12 o clock. The coin weighs 2.9g and is 25.58mm in diameter. The reverse features a long cross with three pellets in each central quarter, there is a star at 9 o clock.
