An extremely worn and nearly illegible Medieval silver long cross penny of Edwardian issue. Because of the two annulets positioned after the TAS in the reverse legend, it is likely that this is a long cross penny of Edward III of Pre-Treaty Issue, minted in Durham probably between AD 1356-1361. Probably Pre-Treaty Series G; cf perhaps: North 1991 Vol II, p. 54, no. 1215. However, very little detail remains to support this and it is only due to the rarity of the double annulets that this identification has been made.

A complete silver penny of Edward III dating to the period AD 1369 to 1377. North Number 1293. The coin is quite damaged and possibly double-struck. There are colon stops on the obverse and possibly a quaterefoil in the centre of the reverse although it is quite worn so it is uncertain whether this was minted at the royal or episcopal mint.
