A silver Edward III halfgroat pre-treaty series C with the reverse of series D and so is a C/D mule. The letter R on the Obverse is wedge tailed while it is normal on the rev. The letter N on the Ob is reversed barred while on the rev it is normal. Mint is London. Ob legend reads as EDWARDVS REX ANGLI Z FRANCI. Initial mark is a cross 1. Date is 1352-53 as series D is later than series C. The diameter is 21mm and the weight 2.16g.
