A clipped and worn base silver farthing, possibly of Edward I.  The obverse bears a cross initial mark, the visible legend reading […]W[…]AR[…]V[…]:REX. There is a facing bust with a crown, bifoliate on the right.  The reverse has a long cross design with three pellets in each quarter. The legend reads LONDONIENSIS with all three Ns reverse barred.  Identified as Withers, either type 1aiii or type 2a (p. 16/17) Measurements: Diameter: 13.3mm Thickness: 0.7mm Weight: 0.44g Die axis: 10
