Weight: 1.081g; die axis cannot be determined. Swansea appears to have operated as an emergency mint during the 'Anarchy', its coins providing the earliest evidence for the town's name. Coins were struck in Stephen's name and that of a baron, Henri de Neubourg. A possible specimen of Stephen's second substantive type from Swansea was found in the Gower in 2003, but insufficient of the legends could be read to confirm the attribution. Boon, G.C. 1986.
