An extremely worn hammered silver coin, probably of Continental origins and Post Medieval date. Traces of a left facing bust remain on the obverse as well as the letters 'NA' towards the end of the obverse legend. It is possible a further 'D' remains at the 12 o'clock position. The reverse has been flattened considerably but seems to depict a cross with possible fourchee ends. The quadrants seem to alternate between a fleur and a crown, suggesting that this coin is French in origin. Legends illegible.

A cut quarter short cross penny of Henry II or III (1154-1272 AD). London mint; Issuer unknown. The obverse retains a trace of one semi-circular hair curl and the hand and sceptre dividing the legend [hENRICVS R]EX.
