Complete and heavily distorted gold snake-head finger-ring of Johns Type Ai (Johns 1997, fig. 6, fig. 9). The slender hoop consists of a snake's head, body and tail in a naturalistic style. The head is rendered with a pattern of swellings, curves and lines with distinct eyes, brows represented by two slanting ridges and nose, giving the head a three-dimensional appearance. A Roman silver bracelet, now broken in two, with a twisted hoop and hinged bezel. The distorted elliptical hoop comprises a fine and evenly-twisted, tightly-spiralled tube made from circular-sectioned silver wire. Quite heavy wear is visible on both sides of the hoop. What appears to be the central core, around which the wire was spiralled, is visible under magnification in those places where distortion has slightly 'opened' the twisted strands, but its composition is uncertain. A Late Iron Age/ Early Roman body sherd and rim sherd. Both fragments are fully oxidised and appear an orange colour to the exterior surface, with a darker orange to the interior. The fabric of both sherds is sandy and includes small particles of mica and displays some small circular voids, possibly from organic matter, as well as very large irregular flint temper. This flint temper appears unsorted and large fragments protrude from both surfaces and in the section. The rim sherd has a beaded rim and is from a large storage jar. A slightly worn but probably complete cast copper-alloy unidentified object of unknown date. This object is formed from a circular in plan ring with a central quatrefoil aperture, and is sub-oval to sub-rectangular in section. Extending from the central aperture to either side of the ring and on both surfaces are two cast ridges which are 'U' shaped in plan; in profile these connect to form an uneven 'X'. A worn and corroded lead-alloy token of probable Medieval to Post Medieval date (c. AD 1250-1800). It is decorated on one side with a six petalled flower, (Powell type 1) whilst the other depicts the initials '·T·C·' with a further pellet above (Powell type 2). The token has a very thin body with a light grey-white patina. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally. They are therefore hard to date precisely and examples with simple designs could be Medieval to late Post Medieval in date (c. AD 1250-1800)
