Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content for the brooch of 97%; it weighs 1.35grams. The fragment consists of the rectangular head-plate and part of the bow of an Early Medieval miniature bow brooch, of which the original form is uncertain in view of the absence of the foot-plate; length: 13 mm surviving; width: 8 mm. A medieval silver annular brooch, now broken and distorted. The brooch is formed of wire of square section, twisted to form a cable design, and with a row of granulations along each side. The brooch has broken at the restriction which would have held the pin. For similar finds, see Treasure Annual Report 2000 (no 134). The brooch probably dates to the 13th or 14th century. Maximum length: 37mm.

A medieval silver brooch in the from of a trefoil. The trefoil is grooved to give greater dimensionality. Placed between each foil is a large acorn knop. The third of these is adapted to accommodate the attachment of a pin. Dimensions and metal content: X-ray fluorescence analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content of 95 per cent.

A cast copper alloy Anglo-Saxon S-brooch from the 6th century AD. It is a closed S shape in plan, with an integral catchplate and a hinge for the pin on the reverse. The front has two raised lateral ridges that follow the S shape from the top to the bottom of the brooch, creating three cells. The pin is missing, but was made of iron; iron corrosion is visible on the reverse at the hinge and catchplate. The bow section is convex on the front, with a central, raised flute. The catch plate portion is higher than the foot, with a protruding arched arm. All breaks are old and it is in fair condition. A cast copper alloy Roman brooch fragment consisting of the catchplate and foot. The foot tapers from a subrectangular bow to a flat bottom. The catchplate has open work, with a rounded triangle on the bottom and circle above. It is in good condition with a dark green patina. It measures 24.73 mm L x 10.36 mm W x 3.31 mm TH and weighs 1.65 g. A similar style of catchplate can be seen in Hattatt 256.
