A silver penny of Elizabeth I, minted in London, 1558-61, initial mark is possibly a martlet, North Number: 1988. The coin has possibly been pierced in the centre, although this may also be general wear and tear. Coins with a single piercing minted after 1180 AD do not normally qualify as treasure unless they are pierced at the top or bottom of the object with respect to the images on the coin. This is because single piercings are not sufficent evidence to say that the coins have been reused.

A copper alloy nummus, apparently of Constantius Gallus (AD 351-5), dating to AD 354-55 (Reece Period 18), FEL TEMP REPARATIO, Soldier advancing left, spearing fallen horseman. RIC VIII, p. 219, cf. no. 223var. This is an unusual coin, because the obverse legend appears to end in VS NOB CAES for Constantius Gallus, although the bust is diademed (Constantius Gallus is always recorded as being bare-headed).
