An incomplete early-medieval silver hooked tag, a long triangle in shape with two circular attachment holes near the corners at the wider end. One of the upper corners is missing. The object tapers towards a break, as the bottom half of the object and the hook are missing. The plate is decorated on the front with engraving inlaid with niello, much of which survives, except by the lower break. A complete Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy 'S'-shaped strap or belt fastener dating to c. 1500-c. 1900 AD. The fastener has twoserpent head terminals with a finely moulded beak and eyes. Closest to the head are three moulded lines followed by a patterning on the neck to represent scales. The necks narrow below the heads before expanding towards the centre of the body. An incomplete Medieval lead ampulla. The ampulla is missing the most rectangular half and the lugs but the bottom half is present and complete, although worn. It is largely oval in plan and rectangular in section. One side is decorated with six pointed petalled flower and the other with what is probably a crown. The object weighs 29.0g and measures 42.03mm in length and 29.80mm in width. See Spencer, B. An incomplete and squashed Medieval or Post Medieval copper alloy thimble, dating to 1300-1700. The thimble is 'beehive' shaped and is almost hemispherical. The exterior of the thimble is decorated with small triangular pits which are arranged in an irregular spiral from the base to the top. There is also a fine incised line around the base just above the rim. It has a medium green patina and has been broken at the top. A complete Post Medieval cast copper alloy spherical animal 'crotal' bell dating to AD 1600-1800. The object is spherical and consists of two halves joined by a raised band running around the circumference of the object. The upper half has two perforated circular holes on each half on the object. A cast copper alloy Roman brooch probably dating to the 1st century AD, possible Colchester one piece type. The brooch is incomplete, only part of the head and the bow remain. The head is oval in plan and is concave on the reverse where the spring mechanism would have been held. The bow is rectangular in plan and tapers towards the break. An incomplete finger ring consisting only of the bezel of probable Roman date, specifically the second half of the 1st century and first half of the 2nd century. The upper surface of the ring has a large oval recess (13.2 x 8.9mm) which would have taken a setting; probable traces of adhesive are visible. The shoulders are slightly bevelled. The ring has been broken on both sides below the shoulders. The patina is a dark brown colour. The ring is an example of a Guiraud Type 2 (Henig Type II/III). It weighs 2.8g and measures 15.53mm in lenth and 8.9mm in width.
