An incomplete enamelled copper alloy oval disc dating to the period c. AD 200 to c. AD 350. A flat-sectioned oval plate with a reserve border and a concentric oval reserve within creating a recess filled with alternating blue and red enamel, of which only three survive. The large raised central cell would have probably contained either a glass/gemstone. To the reverse of the brooch the worn remains of a pin lug and catchplate project from opposite ends. The pin is missing. Length: 26.7mm, Width: 18.3mm, Thickness: 4.5mm, Weight: 2.78 grams.
