A copper alloy Roman pointed oval plate brooch. The plate is divided into three cells; a large central oval cell and a thicker band surrounding that and a thin border. The enamel is all decayed. The pin and most of the catch plate are missing. It has a single pin lug. It has a length of 36.15mm, width 26.58mm, thickness 6.14mm, weight 17.20g. Half of a cast copper alloy Roman brooch of the dragonesque type, dating from c. 75 - 175 AD. Half of the brooch has broken away and is missing. The remaining portion is a closed loop with the usual zoomorphic dragon's head terminal and an expanded body. It is 21.9mm long, 23mm wide and 4.4mm thick. It weighs 4.27gm. A copper alloy annular medieval brooch which is octagonal in shape and dates from the 14th century. The flat, rectangular sectioned frame has four integral tall collets, one at each cardinal point. Between each pair is a hole in the frame. Three of these holes contain a dome headed rivet that secure lozenge shaped sheets flat against the frame. The sheets are stamped with two concentric squares of beading. Next to one of the collets, on the inner side of the frame, is a bulge containing a hole for the wire pin to attach through. A fragment of a copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon brooch, probably a small-long or cruciform brooch. Only the foot survives. It consists of part of the curved bow which is decorated with transverse mouldings at the top and bottom, and an incised central vertical line. Beneath this, the foot plate is sub-rectangular and tapers towards the foot. It has transverse mouldings at the top, and a raised area at the foot also decorated with transverse mouldings. A cast, copper alloy, Roman disc brooch, dating from c. 80-250AD. It is decorated with a simple raised pattern of a hexagon with concave sides; each point of the hexagon has a projecting disc. There is a central raised dot. There are traces of red enamel remaining within the hexagon; that outside the hexagon is missing. The single lug for the pin remains in place on the reverse of the brooch, but the pin and part of the catch plate are missing. It is 20.5mm in diameter and 6.6mm thick. It weighs 4.3gm. A copper alloy annular brooch dating from the Medieval period, probably the 13th or 14th century. It consists of a copper alloy frame that is undecorated and a copper alloy wire pin. The pin has been bent around the frame in order to secure it. The frame is sub-circular in section and is or irregular thickness. There is wear where the pin has rubbed. The brooch has a dark green patina. It has a diameter of 19.22mm, thickness 2.05mm, weight 2.17g. For reference see GLO-8E1BD5 on the PAS database.

A copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from 75 - 175 AD. The pin and the bottom half of the brooch are missing. The brooch is very worn and little detail survives on the acanthus button. There is an integral loop behind the head which holds the spring and the axis bar. The top of the head tapers to a point. The brooch has a light green patina. A copper alloy Roman brooch, probably a T-shaped type dating from 43 - 200 AD. The bottom half of the body is straight with the top half forming a curve. The body is rectangular in section. At the head, the bow continues round back on itself to form tubular wings. Only half of the head survives. The catch plate is still in place but the pin is missing. There is a central longitudinal groove in the lower half of the bow, and the foot is discoidal. The brooch has a length of 80.04mm, width 8.39mm, thickness 3.04mm, weight 19.26g. A copper alloy Trumpet brooch dating from 75 - 175 AD. The pin and catch plate is missing. The head is decorated with enamelling on the trumpet bell and also on the lower bow. The acanthus button is prominent. It continues right round the bow but is less prominent at the back. There is a pronounced collar above and below the button. A fragment of a copper alloy, Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD75-175. It consists of the oval trumpet and part of the bow, both undecorated except for an acanthus moulding below the shoulder of the bow. A part of the copper alloy spring mechanism remains in place, but the remainder of the bow, the foot, the catch plate and the pin are all missing. The fragment is 34.3mm long, 18.6mm wide and 12.9mm thick. A similar brooch is illustrated in Hattatt, Visual Catalogue, page 328, number 950.

A fragment of a copper alloy, Roman brooch of the umbonate type dating from AD100-250. The remaining fragment is a pointed oval shape and incorporates a section of the domed circular area with triangular cells in which traces of red and blue enamel survive. The back of the brooch is concave. The fragment is 16.9mm long, 17.6mm wide and 4.5mm thick. It weighs 2gm. A similar brooch is illustrated in Hattatt, Visual Catalogue, page 350, number 128.

A copper alloy knee brooch dating from the Roman period. The brooch is 30.16mm long, 20.16mm wide and 18.99mm thick. It weighs 13.5g. It has a tubular head with the spring and pin surviving complete. The bow is rectangular in plan and is decorated with spiralling patterns in red enamel. The metal would have been silvered; some traces of this survive. An incomplete Roman trumpet brooch made from copper alloy. The head has a triangular projection which probably would have continued into the spring loop which is now broken.
