A worn, incomplete post medieval silver penny of Elizabeth I (1558-1603 AD). It has wire-line inner circles, but the mintmark is illegible on either side. Pennies were minted throughout the reign so without an initial mark the date of issue cannot be narrowed further. The coin was minted in London. A fragment of the coin has broken off the circumference, which contained one quarter of the legend on both sides.
