A post medieval copper alloy decorated end plate, or 'rove', from a whittle tang knife. The rove is sub-oval with one pointed end and handcut uneven sides. A probable medieval copper alloy dagger or knife pommel or end cap. It is sub-cuboid, with angled sides which create two opposing trapezoidal faces. On the inner face of the pommel is an integral attachment 'tang' or spike. None of the rest of the object survives. The pommel is covered in a thick green-grey patina, measures and weighs.
