A heavily corroded iron knife blade of probable Roman or Early Medieval date (circa 1 AD to circa 1066 AD date). The object has a short tang, which increases in depth slightly towards the blade. The back of the knife is flat and slightly raised from the tang, whilst the underside meets the tang at an angle of approximateley ninety degrees before angling back to form the short cutting edge. Overall, the piece measures 62.3mm long by 27.6mm high and 7.3mm thick. It weighs 17.3g.
