A Post Medieval 16th century copper alloy thimble which has a relatively flat crown and drilled indentations in straight lines running completely around the outer edge. A single circumferential groove runs around the base. The thimble is dented on the opposite side. Very similar to PUBLIC-943991.

A medieval pewter decorated button circa 14th century consisting of an inner circle. Between the inner circle and outer edge appears to be a series of random indentations. The reverse side has a central loop shank with the loop missing.

A Medieval copper alloy double loop oval buckle with pin missing c, 1350-1650 AD. The buckle is 27.6mm long, 22.4mm wide, 2.5mm thick and weighs 4.6 grams. A similar example can be seen in Whitehead page 53 fig 295.

An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy double loop trapezoidal buckle c.1620-1680 AD. The buckle frame has molded decoration on the loops in the form of ovoid knops on the corners of the frame a looped protrusion on either end of the strap bar. The pin is still in place on the integral strap bar. The buckle is 40.0mm long, 27.8mm wide, 2.6mm thick and weighs 6.7 grams. A similar example can be seen in Whitehead page 83 figure 522.

A Medieval double loop rectangular 'locking' or spur buckle. The buckle has a rectangular frame which is drilled to allow for a separate spindle. Protruding from the outside edge of this spindle is a separate locking arm terminating in rounded point. c.1350-1450 AD. Similar examples can be seen in Whitehead page 89.

A copper alloy undecorated finger ring of uncertain date. The ring is circular in plan and 'D' shaped. It is flat on the inner surface and is convex on the outer edge. All surfaces are undecorated. The ring is undiagnosed so is difficult to date, but it is felt that it is possibly of Medieval to Post Medieval date.

A cast lead spindle whorl or possibly weight. It has a slightly domed top and flat base with a tapering circular hole running through it, slightly off centre. Plain spindle whorls and weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards and are hard to date precisely although most are late Medieval - Post Medieval.

A possible copper alloy Awl of uncertain date. The Awl tapers from the blunt end at 3.5mm to a fine point at 1.3mm and is formed square although it does have a slight twist in its length. It has a bend, possibly meant in its construction along two thirds of its length. Similar to other awls on this site. The find has been given a wide date, but the square section of the awl suggests a probable later date.

A Medieval copper alloy single looped 'D' shaped buckle c. AD 1250-1500. The buckle has a narrowed and offset strap bar with a complete pin still attatched. The pin seems to be of a different copper alloy to the frame. The frames is possibly tinned. the buckle is 28mm long, 20mm wide, 2.3mm thick and weighs 4.5 grams.

A Post medieval copper alloy Late 15th to 16th century button. The button is cast in one piece with an integral undrilled shank. It is biconvex in shape with a centril pellet nd a short stem and looped shank. The button shows signs of gilding where the loop attaches to the many body.
A similar example can be seen in Read (2005) page 54.
