Fragment of a Medieval ceramic floor tile of 13th/14th century date. It consists of only around a quarter of the original tile - one corner. The tile has a flat upper and lower face and bevelled sides, so the base is smaller than the upper face. The remains of a glazed design can still be seen on the upper face. This consists of an olive background, with a lighter whitish pattern. The design is worn and what pattern it originally formed is unclear. Some olive glaze continues down one of the sides. Sandstone rotary grindstone, probably of Medieval or Post Medieval date. About 40% of the stone remains, it was a sub circular disk with a hole drilled through the centre. On the remaining fragment the maximum width between the central hole and edge is 60.9mm and the minimum 45.4mm. It appears it was flat on both sides with a flat outer edge although it is now badly pitted. It is 128mm by 68mm across, 59.4mm thick and weighs 530 grams. The stone has been examined by Dennis Parsons who gave his opinion that it is a sandstone with mica and from a non-Somerset source. Although similar …

A cast copper alloy leg from a Medieval to Post Medieval vessel. The leg is broadly trapezoid in cross section with a central rib running down the length of the wider flat front. The rib has a rounded front. There is an old break at the top. The leg is rectangular but is worn around the lower edge with one corner broken. It measures 48.8mm in length, 41.2mm in width by 17.5mm in thickness including the rib, 13.0 excluding; it weighs 115g. There are extensive traces of black sooting on both sides. Roman copper alloy finger ring with a unusually large expanded bezel, probably a varient of Henig type I. The hoop is 80% missing due to old breaks. The remaining piece is narrow and oval in section, it widens and thickens evenly through the shoulders to the bezel. The bezel is topped by a thickened and widened circular expansion. The bezel is plain on the top apart from two deep circular pits drilled to one side of the centre. Tip of a Post Medieval silver chape, probably from a scabbard. The chape is made of silver sheet bent around in a cylinder with a broken, open end and a closed end formed of four triangles bent inwards to meet in the centre. The joint is reinforced with folded sheet and strips of silver visible in the gaps between the triangles. It tapers from the broken open end to the closed end and appears to have been possible oval in section before being squashed inwards. The bracelet is D-shaped in cross-section at the terminal, which consists of double bead moulding with narrow transverse collars between the beads and to either side.
