A flint scraper and part of a second, Neolithic to Early Bronze Age in date. 1. Circular scarper made form a very thick flake or possibly core fragment. Flat platform at the proximal end. The ventral and dorsal faces are covered by invasive, shallow parallel flaking which has removed evidence of the original working. Large chip from the left proximal corner on the dorsal face. Long parallel abrupt retouch down the right edge on the dorsal face (worked from the ventral face) becoming shorter and more semi-abrupt around the distal end as the piece thins. Possible short scalar retouch…

Flint tertiary blade with extensive retouch, probably of Mesolithic date. The proximal end has been retouched/chipped with the platform and part of the bulb of percussion removed. Scars on the dorsal face from at least two previous long parallel removals form the same platform. Short semi-abrupt scalar to sub-parallel retouch worked from the ventral side down the entire right edge (looking from the dorsal face). Translucent pale grey-buff flint, 33.9mm long, 13.4mm wide, 3.8mm thick; 1.59 grams.

Three small fragments of flint blades with retouched edges. 1. Proximal end of a knapped flint tertiary blade. Bulb of percussion, bulb scars and ripples on the ventral face. It is triangular in section with a central ridge on the dorsal face. The right edge (looking from the ventral face) has been retouched with short, scalar, semi-abrupt to abrupt retouch from the dorsal face. Retouched snap at the distal end. There appears to be the start of a deliberate retouched notch for snapping the blade in the centre of the left edge before it thickens around the bulb. Dark grey translucent…

14 pieces of flint debitage. Most show evidence of accidental breaks as well as deliberate working and a few could be the remains of liming. Dark to pale grey flint with one piece of pale grey-buff; most are mid-grey with paler mottling. Three have areas of cortex and appear to be pebble flint. 31.73 grams. Other material from the site dates potentially from the Mesolithic to Bronze Age.

Proximal end of a snapped chert tertiary blade of Mesolithic to early Neolithic date. The blade has a snap at the distal end, bulb of percussion at the proximal end on the ventral face and arises from previous parallel removals from the same platform on the dorsal face. The edges are chipped but there is a also a small area of retouch in the centre of the left edge, viewed from the dorsal side. Possibly an attempt to further snap the blade. Dark brown chert with white mottling. 28.3mm long, 15.2mm wide and 4.5mm thick; it weighs 2.49 grams.

One fragment of a knapped flint blade and one bladelet or piece of debitage, both probably Mesolithic in date. The bladelet has a bulb of percusison on the ventral face and evidence of previous parallel removals form the same platform on the dorsal face; 0.37 grams. The fragment is the middle section of a blade with clear percussion waves on the ventral face and arises from parallel removals on the dorsal. There are multiple chips from the edges, some of which maybe accidental others may be from deliberate attempts to snap the blade; 0.97 grams. High quality dark grey flint.

Fragment of a lead-tin alloy item, probably of Post Medieval date. Probably the base of the handle and part of the bowl from a spoon or possibly a hooked fitting. The piece has a fragment of a flat plate which appears to be expanding into a oval or fig shape. At the upper point of this projects a short stem with a sub-square section. It tapers twoards the broken end which is bent back 180 degrees towards the plate. It appears to have an old break at the end and it is not clear if this bend is original, it is possibly accidental. The stem is thicker than the plate and there is a distin…
