Roman or medieval mount, possibly a vessel escutcheon or vessel mount dating from the 1st-15th century. The surviving part of the mount is broken at one end. It was made from cast copper alloy and is slightly bent. The inside/reverse was plain and there are remains of possibly solder suggesting that it was attached to a vessel or box. One side of the mount terminates in a small moulded circle which could have possibly served as the counter-sunk rivet hole for a screw or nail; in that case the small mount will probably date from the post-medieval or early modern period. An incomplete cast copper-alloy medieval single loop buckle with integral plate dating from c.AD1250-1400. Description: D-shaped frame with integral plate, the plate has segmented narrowed sides framed by transverse ridges. Three rivet holes go through the plate, with two smaller rivets still in place, held by two small copper alloy sheets on the reverse, possibly washers. The third hole, presumably for the pin, is empty as the pin is missing now. An incomplete copper-alloy late medieval copper rectangular buckle with a complete pin, but missing locking arm, dating from the 14th-15th century. The upper and lower sides of the frame are widened about one third of the way along from the inner edge and drilled to hold the seperate spindle for the pin. Copper alloy Roman T-shaped brooch dating from the later 1st century AD, c.AD69-96. Initial T -shaped. The copper-alloy brooch has a cylindrical crossbar which has a central slot on the reverse to allow the pin to be hinged. Within the cross bar there is a copper alloy axis bar on which the pin is pivoted. The hinge is visible, but the pin is missing. The wings are undecorated. A complete copper alloy dress hook of post-medieval date, probably around 16th century. The dress hook is of Reads Class E, Type 3 being circular in plan. The main plate is convex with moulded relief decoration consisting of a six-petalled flower. Each petal enclosing a pellet, within a beaded border. A trapezoidal attachment loop projects from one edge and a D-sectioned hook extends from the opposite edge curving to terminate in a worn point. An incomplete copper alloy strap end dating from the early medieval period, probably c. AD900-1100. The strap end is probably of Thomas' Class E, tongue-shaped. The object is tongue shaped with openwork decoration (there are four perforations around the lower end of the chape) cast in heavy relief and terminates in worn breaks at the attachment end. The upper surface is decorated in heavy relief with what may be a partial anthropomorphic figure, shown only from the waist down with intertwining lower limbs. No rivets survive. An incomplete copper-alloy pin head of Early Medieval date (c. AD 700 - 850). The pin head is a broadly circular in plan and sub-oval in profile with the protruding remains of the shank and a collar moulding between the head and the shank. The pin head is ovoid and decorated with drilled pellets-in-circlets There is a central one at the top and then bands of ca 6-8 underneath. Other examples can be found on this database, such as from the Isle of Wight (IOW-820EE9) and East Lindsey, Lincolnshire (LIN-A59588).

A cast copper alloy trumpet brooch dating from the early Roman period, that is c. AD75-175.The brooch is in good condition with a complete body, head, spring and foot but the pin is missing. The trumpet brooch is composed of a strong, sturdy body with moulded decoration on the bow. The head is trumpet-shaped and doubles as the spring housing. A iron socketed spearhead in good condition, probably dating from the Roman period, that is the 1st-4th century AD. The spearhead survives in its in entirety, with only a small chuck of the blade missing. Considering the material it was made from - iron - it is in very good condition, with the circular socket clearly visible, a flame-shaped blade with lenticular/trapezoidal section and a not very pronounced midrib.
